MES Admission Procedure

Admission is open to students of all communities. Academic life is never tainted by any kind of discrimination whatsoever - ethnic, social and religious. 50% of the seats are filled in open merit strictly adhering to the norms and directives of the university. the remaining 50 % is reserved for management quota.
 
Application for admission should be made in the prescribed form within 15 days of the publication of the results. Application form can be had from the college office on payment of `30/- or as may be intimated by the University from time-to-time.
 
 Candidate for admission should produce the following certificates at the time of interview.
 

1. S.S.L.C. Book/ +2 Certificate/ Degree Certificate.

2. CAP  Registration

3. Migration Certificate

4. Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended.

5. Certificate of conduct from the head of the institution last attended.
 
6. Income certificate, Nativity certificate and Community certificate issued by authorities concerned in the case of those who are eligible for fee concession. No fees will be levied from those, who produce these certificates at the time of admission. O.B.C. and forward community students will have to remit the caution deposit at the time of admission.
 
7. Four copies of recent passport size photo.

8. The parent or guardian should be present at the time of interview for admission of the student.

College Rules

Generals:
 
1. Identity card is compulsory to all the students in the campus.
 
2. Students are expected to behave in polite and decorous manner.
 
3. Students are prohibited from:
 
i) Entering the campus, laboratories, office, staff room, etc. except when they are expected to be there
 
ii) Loitering along verandahs and in vacant classrooms.
 
iii) Damaging furniture and other college property.
 
iv) Holding meetings and processions, collecting funds without obtaining the prior permissions of the Principal.
 
v) Using mobile phone in the campus.
 
4. Perfect discipline and decorum should be maintained in the classroom and college campus.
 
5. Students should not remain in the classrooms during free hours as it might disturb other classes; they may go to the library or reading room.
 
6. For acts of misbehaviour, the Principal may impose such punishments as fines, cancellation of attendance, withholding of term certificate, forfeiture of educational concession and scholarship, suspension and ever expulsion.
 
7. Students who fail to attend terminal examinations will not be permitted to attend the University examinations.
 
8. Fine will be levied from students for damaging college properties.
 
9. Students are expected to be properly dressed. Showy clothes are to be avoided. Women students are expected to show dignity in their dress and general behaviour.
 
10. Smoking which is injurious to health, is strictly prohibited in the college campus.
 
11. Do not disfigure the walls, doors, windows, furniture etc. with graffiti, bills engravings, etc. learning not to damage property whether public or private is one of the primary requirements for civilized behaviour.
 
12. Political activism is strictly banned in the campus. Students are forbidden to organize or attend meetings other than the official ones. Students resorting to strikes are strictly prohibited from entering the verandah of the building or the classrooms.
 
13. Use the general complaint/suggestion box for complaints, grievance and suggestions. Let the students' representative alone submit mass petitions if any, to the Principal.
 
14. Any student who is persistently insubordinate, who is repeatedly or willfully mischievous, who is guilty of fraud or malpractice in connection with examinations or who, in the opinion of the Principal, is likely to have an unwholesome influence of his fellow students, shall be removed from the rolls. The removal shall be either temporary or permanent according to the gravity of the offence.
 
15. Government has made it clear that ragging in any from should be sternly and effectively prevented. Whenever an offence is committed in the name of ragging whether within the campus of an educational institution or in a hostel or otherwise, the Principal/Warden will report the matter forthwith to the nearest Police station and not wait until a compliant in this regard is received from the person affected. Appropriate disciplinary action will also be taken against the culprits. Government makes it clear that it will be viewed seriously for any lapse in this regard and that the responsibility of the officer in charge of the institution.
 
16. Two-wheelers of the students should be parked in the space provided near the entrance as per the government order.
 
Fee Rules
 
1. The first installment including special fees will be collected on the date of admission.
 
2. Subsequent installments will be collected from August to February on or before the 7th working day of each month.
 
3. If a student fails to pay fees on the due date he/she shall be liable to pay a fine of '100/- along with the fees on or before the tenth day after the due date.

4. If the fee with the fine is not paid even on the tenth day after due date and additional fine of `250/- will have to be paid.

5. If the fees and the fines are not paid within the last working day previous to the due date of the succeeding installment, the name of the students will be removed from the rolls of the college. If the student is to be readmitted he/she has to remit all arrears with fine and obtain permission from the Principal.

 
6. `50/- will imposed as readmission fees from those who fail to remit the tuition fees even after the last date of remittance of fees with fine.
 
Issue of Certificates:
 
1. Application for certificates should be made at least two days in advance.
 
2. Conduct certificate will ordinarily be issued only along with the transfer certificate when the students complete the course.
 
3. No certificate will be issued from the college unless the Principal is satisfied with the reason stated by the applicant for the issuance of such a certificate.
 
Attendance and Leave:
 
1. No student shall be absent from the class without leave.
 
2. A student who is late or absent from the class for one hour will be considered as absent for half day.
 
3. The Attendance / Progress / Conduct Certificate (APC) required by the University for admission to University examination will not be granted unless.
 
i) The Principal is satisfied that student's conduct and progress.
 
ii) The student has attended 75% of working days in the academic year.
 
4. The student absent without leave for fifteen consecutive working days will be removed from the rolls. If a student is unable to attend classes as he / she represents the college in extra curricular activities such as sports, games, N.S.S., N.C.C., artistic or literary activities he/she may apply for attendance for such days. Such applications shall be duly recommended by the member of staff concerned and shall be submitted not later than the next day after such activities. Late application will not be entertained. The Principal reserves all rights to grant or refuse such applications..
